You're on the verge of leaving this site, for a site at Geocities. There are certainly much nastier sites out there - this one is profanity and racism-free, and to the likely disappointment of somebody, completely nudity-free. Nor is everything on that site unpleasant. There is a page of fun things to do in Chicago, of likely interest to burners, and at the time of this writing, I have a local photography page planned, that I'll start on when warm weather comes, probably. But - and maybe I say this too often - let's be realistic. The Halls of Eternal Disbelief is a site I wrote about trolls (think "online equivalent of obscene phone callers") and the impact that they were having on Net and popular culture. It's an intrinsically unpleasant subject, with a number of people coming up looking very bad in these documented accounts. If you're one of those people who says things like "if you can't say something nice about somebody, then don't say anything at all", then this is not a site that you want to visit.

If, having been warned about this, you decide to continue onward anyway, then feel free to click here and go to the main file for the Geocities version of the Halls of Eternal Disbelief, but don't say that you weren't warned. I've made a conscientious, good faith effort to make sure that you knew what you'd be getting yourself into, and if things like what you're about to see if you go to that site are unacceptable to you, then it's your responsibility to honor that effort and not go there, because if you do after getting this warning, you'll have no basis for complaining to Tripod about this link. As the late Mike Royko once said, "if you stick your head in a sewer, do you complain about the smell?"

Still want to go to that site?
